Answer: FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol, which means you, the customer, are able to transfer/download large files from your computer to PlanIT's website for printing service. Also, PlanIT is able to download files and transfer them back to you, the customer. The difference between an FTP and email is that a standard email can only send or receive six/210 megabytes, where as an FTP site can store or send much larger files. 2. What is an online plan room? Answer: An online plan room is the central communication portal between contractors, architects, engineers, and all subcontractors/trades on any particular job operating in real time and via the web. Any customer of PlanIT's online plan room will have the ability to view any jobs that are up for public or private bid, and have the ability to order plans and specifications for estimating, real time. Each customer, such as the general contractor, the architect, engineer, or subcontractor/trade will be able to login at anytime and view plans and specifications that relate to each job posted on the online plan room. Also, any changes, amendments or alterations are instantly available as well. 3. What is so valuable about bid management, and what does it do? Answer: We, at PlanIT, are very excited about our unique software that will support, streamline and simplify the use of the online plan room. PlanIT believes our digital bid management site will bring a new standard of communication to the construction industry. Bid management assists all construction, design, and engineering trades to update the process in real time in all phases of the bid process. A general contractor will be able, at anytime, to know who is bidding on the job that they posted on PlanIT's online plan room, and can access all the bidders, in real time, from their office or Blackberry/IPhone. A participating subcontractor/trade company would be updated and reminded, real time, to bid on a particular project so that they could meet posted deadlines for bid. Further, an architect, engineer or contractor can instantly communicate and distribute changes in the plans that are being bid out by all trades. As a customer of PlanIT, our unique software will be able to track all distribution and receipt of any changes or addendums to the plans and keep a log confirming receipt by all parties, real time. PlanIT's unique software will be offered at no charge to its customers. Thus, the customer will be given the platform to operate at a more efficient level with less cost than your competitor. 4. Why does PlanIT have in house workstations, and why would I use one? Answer: For the convenience of our customers who want to use our facility to learn about available jobs, review plans and drawings posted on our online plan room for those jobs, and to have plans printed while they wait in our lobby. 5. What is "total encapsulation", and why do you do this? Also, what are folding services? Answer: Total encapsulation is a double-sided lamination process that protects any document for an extended period of time from degrading. This is used for example on presentation media such as posters, pictures, and miscellaneous graphics. PlanIT is proud to announce we have a sophisticated, high volume-folding machine for small format folding such as books, brochures, or newsletters. 6. What do you mean by a full range of bindery services? Answer: PlanIT has the ability to comb bind, coil bind, and thermal bind at a commercial volume level. 7. Is PlanIT Green? Answer: PlanIT is serious about the well being of our planet Earth. From our recycling protocols, our industry leading software systems, to our state of the art equipment that is Energy Star compliant, we hope to exemplify a new standard in the reprographics industry. |
